1863 August 15: Updated Casualty List of Company B of the 6th Wisconsin at Gettysburg

The following “corrected” list of casualties in Company B of the 6th Wisconsin Infantry at Gettysburg updates the list supplied back on July 2 by Captain Converse.  In addition, this letter includes several Company B members who had been detached in Battery B of the 4th U.S. Artillery.

Casualties at Gettysburg.

WARRENTON JUNCTION, Va. }
July 28, 1863. }

FRIEND LUTE :—Enclosed please find a corrected list of casualities [sic] in Co. B, at the battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 1st, 1863 :

Killed—Corporal Wm. E. Evans, Private Henry Anderson.

Wounded—Sergeant Simon Marugg, leg, severe; corporals James Kelly, left breast, (died July 21st,) Joseph Fachs, leg, amputated; Clarence E. Bullard, leg, severe; Isaiah F. Kelly, leg and neck, slight.  Privates Wm. Foust, head—supposed killed; Ole Gunderson, leg, severe; Franklin J. Hall, shoulder, severe; James R. W. Harvey, arm, severe; Charles A. Keeler, both ankles, severe; James McEwen, right breast, serious; Peter Nelson, leg, severe; James Richardson, hand, slight; Robert Tomlinson, shoulder, not serious; Thomas Williams, leg, slight.

Privates Jeremiah Murphy, (battery corporal,) severe; John H. McLaughlin, (battery corporal,) slight; Seymour W. Colby, slight.
