Henry O. Fifield (1841-1920)

Henry Otis Fifield was born August 7, 1841, to Samuel Stillman Fifield, Sr. (1800-1870) and Naomi Sarah Pease Fifield (1810-1849) in Maine.  His siblings included older brother Samuel Stillman Fifield, Jr. (1839-1915), later editor of The Polk County Press (Osceola, Wisconsin).

Henry O. Fifield—known as Hank—was living in Prescott, Wisconsin, when he enlisted May 20, 1861, in the 1st Minnesota Infantry, Company C.  He was a musician and drum major.  He re-enlisted on August 16, 1863.

Hank married Emma L. Walker (1845-1927) in Osceola (Polk County), Wisconsin, on September 25, 1866.  They had one daughter, Alice Fifield, born in December 1876 in Canada.

Henry O. Fifield died in 1920 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Wellington (Lorain County), Ohio.
