Jeremiah Heath (1835-1911)

Jeremiah “Jerry” Heath was born August 30, 1835,  to Hiram Heath and Mary Collins in Dunbarton, New Hampshire.  By the 1860 federal census he was living in Prescott, Wisconsin, staying with the William Crippen family.  He was a harness maker.

Jerry Heath enlisted in the Prescott Guards on May 10, 1861.  He rose to corporal, was wounded at the Battle of South Mountain on September 14, 1862, and was discharged with a disability on February 9, 1863.

Jeremiah Heath died March 17, 1911, in Los Angeles, California, and is buried in the Angelus Rosedale Cemetery.
